Satellite TV broadcaster Sky has announced that it is in talks with gambling charity Gamcare, with the intention of developing of a safe scheme for all its iTV (interactive TV) gambling services.

The talks will focus on methods of ensuring that underage and problem gamblers cannot access the sites, such as Attheraces, and others.

As well as setting guidelines for the services, there is likely to be the addition of age verification technology, as well as information relating to gambling help groups, and the dangers of gambling and gaming themselves.

Richard Flint, director of betting and gaming for Sky Interactive said, 'Responsible gambling and gaming is very important. We operate in a controlled environment, so we can make sure our partners maintain certain levels.'
