|The Boston Herald reports that an unnamed gaming casino cruise business which began sailing gamblers out of Gloucester in August is headed by Adam R. Kidan. Kidan is a former lawyer who was disbarred from practice in his native New York, presumably in part for his alleged involvement in some way with the unsolved murder of one of his business partners, Konstantinos “Gus” Boulis, in Florida. |
Kidan also has a record of multiple business bankruptcies.
Before emerging in Massachusetts, Kidan, 38, ran SunCruz Casinos, reportedly Florida's largest casino cruise line, based in Fort Lauderdale. Kidan and two partners bought the business from Boulis in September 2000. Boulis kept a 10% stake in SunCruz and eventually accused Kidan of failing to completely pay for buying his large share of SunCruz. At that point, Boulis threatened Kidan’s life and tried to stab him in the neck with a pen, Kidan claims. On the night of February 2, 2001, Boulis was driving home from SunCruz when the car in front of him suddenly stopped, and a car coming towards him suddenly stopped alongside and behind his car, blocking his escape. According to a witness, a man from the second car came out shooting through the car window at Boulis. Boulis was left there to die.
