Gaming Insight inks Scandinavian deal
By Paul
Gaming Insight is to drop out of the online casino sector in favour of iTV betting. The company announced Friday its first global distribution deal - with NSAB of Scandinavia - to deliver its greyhound racing interactive digital TV product and on-screen betting to 1.5 million homes in Scandinavia.

The company said it is also discussing similar deals with nine other broadcasters worldwide, which could represent a total distribution to more than 70 million homes.

Gaming Insight said it will rebrand as Red Button Racing to boost the product's appeal. The site relaunched this summer with the addition of interactive TV features, accessed by the Red Button on iTV remote controls – hence the new name.

Gaming Insight will also phase out its interests in online casino gaming. The company has stopped operating on a daily basis, but will continue to take part in a revenue sharing arrangement for the remainder of the contract that expires at the end of next year. This is not 'expected to be material to the company's current revenues', it said.

The company also plans to sell its proprietary casino software and says that it is in talks with a number of potential buyers.
