|Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesday's Powerball drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $69 million. That's the largest lottery jackpot in the country. |
The cash option for the Saturday, November 30 drawing will be an estimated $37 million.
This current jackpot run started with the Wednesday, October 30 drawing. It was the 9th consecutive draw without being hit. More than 2.7 million Powerball players across the nation have won prizes since this jackpot run started in late October.
Players purchased more than 15.2 million tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night. The numbers drawn Wednesday were: 1, 20, 25, 40, 53, and the Powerball was 19. The Power Play multiplier was 5.
Five players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The winning tickets were purchased in Connecticut, Missouri (2), and Pennsylvania (2). The winning Connecticut player and one of the winning Pennsylvania players purchased the Power Play option. By spending an extra dollar those players multiplied their prize by 5 for a total win of $500,000.
Thirty-six players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Seven of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $25,000.
Organisers say players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels.
