|Jupiters investors were delighted yesterday as their share price surge 13 percent after the news that the company was in merger discussions with Tabcorp, Australia's largest gaming group. |
Jupiters has hardly been in merger discussions with UNiTAB, operators of the TABs in South Australia. Their share price was ill effected by the merger discussions with Tabcorp, and shares dropped by 3c.
However appears that the greatest shake up in share price occurred to the billion dollar Tabcorp who share prices fell 28c. Industry experts anticipate that the mergers may go according to plan considering that they are progressing smoothly so far. But political analysts warn that politicians may be less receptive to the merger talks than the leaders of big business since the merger will create a near monopoly controlled by a Victorian company.
