|One of the UK’s leading independent I-gaming company has sold off Radio Tara. UKbetting Company has finally found a buyer for the sports news station.|
Sold off for a total of £418,000 the recent deal included both the station base and the transmission site. Peter Dubens, vice chairman of UKbetting: 'We are pleased with this result – this concludes the disposal of non-core assets from the Teamtalk acquisition.'
UKbetting acquired the asset along with the rest of Teamtalk last year. The company paid £14 million for the Internet sports and radio operation. However they are only interested in the gaming and sports content of Teamtalk. Though based in London the assets of main interest for UKbetting, the sport content and call centre operations, are in Yorkshire. Radio Tara, formerly known as Teamtalk 252, did not fit in with Ukbetting’s plans. As a result it was shut down last year in July.
The announcement means that UKbetting almost finished absorbing Teamtalk. Stripping the company to the only components of interest UKbetting can now focus itself entirely on I-gaming. Dubens: 'We are now near to completing the integration exercise that began in July 2002 and brings us closer to streamlining the betting company into a profitable, dedicated online gaming and sports content company.'
