Pete Rose bets at BoDog.com

BoDog Sportsbook & Casino has become the first sportsbook in the world to allow players to wager on Pete Rose and his possible reinstatement by Major League Baseball.

'Pete Rose is apparently ready to admit that he bet on baseball and could be reinstated by the commissioner,' said Rob Gillespie, BoDog President. 'The question is though, when will he be reinstated, if at all.'

Bettors have been given four choices for Rose's reinstatement date. 'March-May' is the odds-on favorite at 4/5.

'In the last week or so Rose has had a former teammate, Mike Schmidt, come out in support of him. Schmidt suggested Rose may be reinstated before Opening Day,' said Gillespie. 'As such, we've made in early reinstatement the favorite.'

Gillespie also pointed out that bettors can choose 'Not reinstated in 2003' which pays off at 4/1.

'It's been suggested that Rose will have to admit to betting on baseball in the past before Bud Selig even considers reinstatement,' said Gillespie. 'If Rose isn't willing to do that, there's a good chance he won't be reinstated this year and some bettors apparently agree.'

The longshot, at 5/1, is a reinstatement between September and December while 'June - August' pays 3/2.

'We wanted to have something our players could have some fun with. However, if Mr. Rose does call we may not take his bet. He might have inside information,' joked Gillespie.
