|It’s “A New Day” for Vegas as Celine Dion starts her sensational new show. Dion’s new show, “A New Day” premiered last Tuesday at Caesar’s Palace and is set to run for as long as three years. In fact Caesar’s Palace had a theatre built specifically for her show that is already a sell out success.|
It’s been only three years since the Canadian singer left her career at the peak of her powers to raise her family. Now she’s back and plans to make her name again with the new show “A New Day”. At thirty-five the diva’s decided that rather than tour the world to reclaim her fame she’s going to base herself in Vegas and make the world come to her.
Performing for two hundred nights a year for the next three years Dion’s certainly got her work cut out for her. Help is at hand however to ensure the show is an absolute success. Franco Dragone, the world famous director of Cirque du Soleil, is behind the scenes adding a dazzling array of special effects, dancers, costume changes and circus tricks. Of course Celine will even do a spot of singing too.
So far the show has been received so well that big stars like Michael Jackson and Jerry Seinfield are rumoured to be planning to try something similar to Celine. Gary Bongiovanni, the editor of industry magazine Pollstar: 'I think if her show is successful, and there's little doubt it will be, you may very well see other artists trying the same thing.'
