Self-exclusion in Both Worlds
By staff
Self-exclusion software has been available for online gamblers since 1999. The principal is simple, if you think you have a gambling problem or you simply want to stop yourself from gambling-for whatever reason-then you can write your online casino and asked them not to let you play for a specified period of time.

Now, the TAB is reporting on the success of its terrestrial self-exclusion program which implemented in September 2002. But the terrestrial self-exclusion program goes further than the racecourse. Players can also restrict themselves from telephone Internet betting after a request.

But unlike any online world, people exclude themselves from racecourses also sign away for allowing the racecourses to use 'reasonable force' to remove the banned player from the area. Players are identified on course by mug shots displayed in the back offices of specific venues.

Is it popular, people are signing up and still too early to tell. Online, casino executives have reported that players hold casinos in higher regard if they offer such exclusion programs. Whether or not players removed by 'reasonable force' rather than by logout will feel the same way is yet to be determined.
