South African Oceans Eleven
By staff
The South African National Gambling Board recently reported to OnlineCasinoNews.com that “gambling has grown from a R6.8bn pastime in 2001 to a R10.6bn activity within in the first 10 months of 2002”. Now some enterprising thief’s robbed some of it.

Three men robbed at the SugarMill Casino stealing almost R160 000 after posing as gamblers. Just after 3am they threatened casino cashiers with guns before escaping with the loot. Not the millions that face Brad Pitt made off with in Oceans Eleven, but equally as daring as casino robberies are as close to impossible as you can get in the criminal underworld.

As you would expect the police were on the scene minutes after the incident and the Durban Serious Violent Crimes Unit is now on the case. Will they get away with it? If history repetes itself they wont, the only other time the SugarMill Casino was robbed the good guys won catching the bandits and recovering the loot.
