TAB Targets ‘Interlopers’
By dave
TAB Ltd., the New South Wales pari-mutuel, has urged the Australian federal government to introduce legislation to block illegal foreign gambling agencies that use the Internet.

Citing measures taken by the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, and Norway, TAB urges the government to review the Interactive Gambling Act as a legitimate instrument to bar unlicensed online operators.

'The [Interactive Gambling Act] is a legitimate instrument for dealing with the interloping activities of foreign betting exchanges in Australia,' TAB Managing Director Warren Wilson said in a statement.
