|Norman Inkster, a 36-year RCMP veteran whose résumé includes a stint as president of the international police agency Interpol, has joined the board of Dot Com Entertainment Group Inc., an Internet gambling software company that is moving into the online bingo market. |
Mr. Inkster concedes a former top cop in the gaming business might raise eyebrows, but 'I'm not one of those who has a natural bias against gaming,' he says.
He says he believes he can help add value around corporate governance in a business where, he says, 'the rules aren't written.' He knows Dot Com chief executive officer David Outhwaite from a past association with another Internet gambling technology firm, and claims his enforcement expertise may help when advising the company in checking out people it does business with, including potential licensees. 'You want to know where the money comes from, and what their backgrounds might be. My philosophy is compliance before commerce.'
