Players of the Indiana Hoosier Lottery will get a chance at a second jackpot on the Internet, in a second online draw courtesy of eLottery technology. According to the Hoosier lottery, beginning August 19, 2001 any ticket sold through a lottery retail agent that is a non-winner will have an opportunity to enter a second draw by joining the VIP club at www.hoosierlottery.com.
Players will be able to enter the serial numbers on their losing ticket into a special interface designed by eLottery and will then be eligible for the second draw with five prizes of $100 each week for two weeks. The contest will end on September 2, 2001.
This is the first time a governmental lottery will be using the Internet as an entry vehicle to promote the launch of its mid-day drawing for Daily 3 and Daily 4 online games. Internet second chance sweepstakes have already been used by the New Jersey, Kentucky and Hoosier lotteries and have proved successful.
Hoosier Lottery Director, Jack Ross said, “We are pleased to offer this exciting Second Chance opportunity for our online Daily 3 and Daily 4 customers. We were impressed with the ability of eLottery to launch and implement this program in a relatively short period of time.
