CryptoLogic and William Hill settle patent dispute
By darren
CryptoLogic have run into a little legal dispute recently over the patenting of online gaming technology. Apparently, someone in the UK was a little annoyed that the company had ripped off one of his ideas.

Nevertheless the dispute that their subsidiary, WagerLogic and bookmaking and online gambling company giant, William Hill, had with Dr Julian Menashe has been settled. Dr Menashe is the inventor of a certain type of gambling technology.

Everyone seems to be satisfied with the agreement reached although the terms have largely not been disclosed. All that’s known is that Dr Menashe’s technology will be licensed by the two companies, which sounds like the good doctor has done very well out of the dispute and must have had a very strong claim to his invention.

Bill Haygarth, managing director of e-commerce for William Hill is glad to have put the trouble behind him: “We are pleased to have settled the claim. We can now focus exclusively on the growth of our Internet businesses.'

CryptoLogic are also pleased with the results and commented that the settlement appeased all three parties. Not much really from CryptoLogic, as by nature of reaching a settlement all three parties have agreed to something.
