The Slots That Ate Texas

The San Antonio Police Department said it is running out of room for illegal gambling machines. The department said it has so many that it has run out of places to store them.

Over the past few years, police have confiscated several thousand eight-liner machines.

'We are going to continue to aggressively make arrests confiscate the equipment, confiscate the money if we have to. We are going to continue to do those things,' SAPD Sgt. Gabe Trevino said. 'We are just going to have to set ourselves up right in -- No. 1 -- the storage of the machines. We just can't pick them up and have no place to take them.'

The department is trying to find more room to store the machines. Police can't destroy them because they are evidence the courts need for future trials.
