Kansas Lotto Needs Help
By Earl
Topeka, Kansas. September 4, 2003. The Associated Press reports that ticket sales have begun for the new Kansas Lottery game that promotes the state’s favorite tourist attractions. “Cabela's Cash” is a $2 scratch-off ticket featuring wildlife themes. Cabela’s itself, a hunting, fishing, and outdoor sports store of 180,000 square feet near Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, has already welcomed 2,000,000 since its opening in April, and expects an increase in customers due to its backing for the lottery scratch-off tickets.

Prizes from the scrach-off ticket include up to $10,000 cash, and discounts and shopping sprees at Cabela's.

Lottery Director Ed Van Petten said Kansas is looking for ways to promote businesses such as Cabela's. The Internet and I-gambling could further boost the Kansas State Lottery and Kansas businesses in turn.
