|Top British company takes over all operations of a well established interactive betting channel Avago.|
The Gaming Channel is a privately owned company whose shareholders include business entrepreneur and Freeserve founder Peter Wilkinson and John Swingewood, the former director of new media at BskyB.
Avago will work as a subsidiary of The Gaming Channel, which plans to extend its popular services to internet and mobile application, as well as developing further interactive television channels.
Avago was launched in July of last year and has managed to pull in around 10,000 sky viewers. As of 1 September, all the day-to-day operations of Avago, along with its 30 staff, have been transferred to The Gaming Channel.
The Channel is headed by Damian Cope, the co-founder of Britainís first internet betting service, Blue Square. Cope also worked for the Hilton Group where is developed Ladbrokes.com into a multi-lingual gambling portal.
