Gaming operator doubles turnover

Following the acquisition of and in 2002, online gaming operator reported doubled revenues in its first-half


For the first 6 months till June 30th, the website generated £27.6m in turnover - up 103 percent from the previous year's revenues for the same period. This helped it to narrow pre-tax losses by £200,000 to £3.1m.

Thanks to its new strategy of directing its sports website users to and, the number of active users has shot up. Teamtalk and Sportinglife collectively attract over 3.45 million users each month and's over total customer base has almost doubled from 84,000 accounts to 155,000 customers. Active user base has swelled by 50 percent to 30,000 during the first-half of 2003. The operator is adding around 3,600 new customers every month, with an average online spend of £363 per customer per month.

Early this year, the online casino started new poker services which have attracted over 2,350 casino customers and nearly 1,000 poker players.

96 percent of's revenues are generated from UK. The company has plans for expansion in Europe later in the year.
