Already, Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has promised to clean up Thailand’s illegal gambling dens, but is online gaming going to be embraced or outlawed. This is yet to be answered, but influences including the embracement of online gambling by countries like the United Kingdom are sure to effect Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra view. Essentially, if Thailand is to fulfill its goals of becoming more tech savvy, and less corrupted, they may take a book from Britain’s playbook and highly regulate online gaming in an attempt to protect Thai gamblers.
