|A leading international resort and gaming company declared today that it has been awarded one of only three online gaming licences by the Isle of Man government and will thus be able to operate within its jurisdiction. Sun International Hotels Limited were amongst eleven major entertainment and gaming companies who competed to secure licences.|
Under the guidance of Chief Executive Tobin Prior, SunOnline will focus on the company's transition into the online gaming sector. After releasing a beta test site ensuring that its software performs in accordance, the company now plans to launch Atlantis Online Casino in the last quarter of 2001.
This is aimed to extend the experience of the casino resort with its wide international appeal onto the Internet. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Sol Kerzner, commented, 'We are very pleased that we were awarded one of the three licences in a recognised world class jurisdiction. I believe it's testimony to our corporate credibility, gaming experience, superior online infrastructure and real customer knowledge.' Julian Lalor-Smith, Administrator, Department of Home Affairs, Isle of Man, added, 'One of the key reasons we chose to award a licence to the SunOnline was that Sun International has a reputation for adhering to strict regulations in managing and owning all its casinos and resorts worldwide.'
Sun International has taken serious steps to ensure the highest levels of compliance and security are met in order to exploit their experience in land-based casino operations.
