|UKbetting, the Internet gambling and sports content company, today launched a broadband Internet service aimed at football, rugby and racing punters.|
The price of the monthly service is £27.99, £2 cheaper than BT's premium broadband service. UKbetting claims to have more sports content than anyone except for the BBC. Subscribers will get high speed Internet access, with customised sports content on UKbetting's sites, such as SportingLife.com, Teamtalk.com and Sportal.com, which includes American sports.
Content includes sports video clips, horseracing previews and a free tipping service, while for subscribers playing poker and roulette on the company’s Totalbet.com site, free bets and promotional wagers are included.
UKbetting's executive vice-chairman Peter Dubens said: 'Imagine you like Manchester United, the English rugby team and racing from Ascot. You'll get a customised home page which will give you instant updates on all of these. If you're waiting for a certain horse to run, you'll get alerts every time it does.' 'Sports and betting fans are amongst the most avid users of the Internet, and for them, speed is absolutely essential,' David Annat, content director of UKbetting said.
In a separate development, UKbetting is in talks to buy rival gambling site Oddscheckers. Oddschecker is a comparison site for bettors, giving punters a comparison of bookies prices on local and international sports fixtures.
