|GoodLot (www.goodlot.co.uk), the online charity gaming site, were at Roosevelt Four Freedom Awards in New York on the weekend to present Anna E Roosevelt, granddaughter of Franklin D., with a cheque for $10,000. The Four Freedom Awards are based on the four essential freedoms that were defined by the late US president Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Ms Roosevelt has pledged that the money will go to an ‘interactive learning project on freedom and human rights.’|
Good Lot, who have had such luminaries as Nelson Mandela and Mikhail Gorbachev as ambassadors in the past, are the first of their kind and are devoted to a wide range of charities from Greenpeace to Unicef. They are committed to offering, “the best odds while working together to create a better life and environment for others, both in the UK and around the world.”
And Ms Roosevelt’s message to all you philanthropic gamblers? “The new venture GoodLot promises to be an extraordinarily successful means of charitable giving, with a significant percentage of the gross proceeds going directly to charity. I admire greatly what GoodLot is setting out to do.” Three cheers for GoodLot - the perfect way to make the world a better place.
