|Thanks to VirtGame's digital network technology, Nevada residents will soon see kiosks in bar and tavern locations that will provide sports wagering from non-casino locations. The kiosks, or Sport Bet Express (SBX) terminals, are similar to an ATM or cash machines. A customer can view a computer touch screen offering a choice of various casinos, select his casino, where he is a registered customer or member and then place a bet, check odds, or log into his sports wagering account. |
According to Virtgame, SBX is the first system which allows casino customers to place sports bets from remotely located kiosks, without actually walking into a casino. The company believes this is legally compliant, because in accordance with Nevada account wagering regulations, a customer must first 'physically' go to a casino to open an account and deposit funds, only after which he can use any SBX terminal in Nevada to wager on that account.
The 'casino terminal' is like a standard ATM, with a computer that sends and receives information to the casinos through a digital network, and works with the bank account or in this case his casino account.
VirtGame has received approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board for deployment of the SBX system in a formal live trial, with over 25 kiosks currently in operation.
