Books Closed on Mysterious Girl

Bookmakers are so convinced of Peter Andre hitting the top of the UK charts this weekend that they have already closed the books and started paying out. The singer, who first released the track in 1996 before fading into obscurity, became an instant success again after appearing on British Televisionís Iím a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Marooned in the jungle with nine other celebrities, Andre captured the publicís imagination by falling in love with glamour model Katie Price, aka Jordan, live on television. Mysterious Girl, which was initially dismissed it as a 50-1 chance, is currently storming the charts, and set to shift 100,000 by Sunday outstripping its closest rival by two to one. Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: 'Our sources tell us that there is no way Mysterious Girl won't be No 1, so we have started paying out.'

Ladbrokes say they have also closed the book on Andre's rumoured follow up single, Insania, making it to No1 by the end of the year Ė a song composed in the Jungle and inspired by his tender feelings for the ample-bosomed Miss Price. They are, however, offering odds of 6-1 on the love-struck pair topping the charts soon with a duet.
