Gambling sites meet mobile resistance
By rick
Mobile phone operators are increasingly taking an opt-in policy in content available through their networks. There are worries that technological advancements in the mobile phone industry could make access to gambling and pornography too readily available.

Customers will have to provide proof of age to opt-in to services that are deemed to be of adult content by the operators.

All the major networks have signed up to a code of conduct. Part of its remit covers working towards securing filtering systems of both email and internet content, such as those offered by Openwave and SurfControl.

This self-regulation should stop much criticism of the industry and lend a greater air of authenticity to the igaming market. However, the move will certainly reduce initial revenues for such sites.
