Businesses across Europe share internet fate
By rick
Over one-fifth of all European small businesses are thought to have been forced to close down operations temporarily to recover from internet borne attacks, according to research from McAfee Security.

The study showed the frequency of viruses and internet related crime was costing 5,000 Euros in lost time and clean-up costs. With cybercrime on the rise, there seems to be no end in sight for misdemeanours that are costing European companies over 20 billion Euros a year.

A similar study released by the British Hi-Tech Crime Unit also highlighted the cost of such damages, amounting to possibly billions of pounds each and every year. The cost and threat is growing in all industries. The igaming industry has felt the pinch with the unfortunate new crime, cyberextortion.
