|CYOP Systems, a provider of online video games and tournaments of skill, has announced that it has reached an agreement to exclusively feature the vendor’s licensed pool game on Sina.com, the North American subsidiary of the Chinese portal Sina.|
CYOP, which offers online skill-games for real money prizes through its Skillsarcade.com site, said it would provide a co-branded multi-player pool game, exclusively for Game.sina.com to target the global Chinese community. SINA will localize and integrate the co-branded Chinese free pool games and create fixed entry points or links on its Taiwanese and Hong Kong sites.
‘We are very excited about the partnership and the natural fit that exists between our companies. Our Crediplay technology provides a platform for SINA.com Online to provide a valuable interactive entertainment model to further capitalize on its existing traffic. The Asian marketplace is very important to the online gaming industry-with its growing demographics who simply love to play games,’ said Craig Owens, VP of Business Development, CYOP Systems.
IDC recently estimated that China’s online video game market touched US$159 million in 2003 and is expected to grow to US$809 million in the next three years, growing at a 50 percent each year.
