|The brightest stars of the Las Vegas strip have teamed up with one of entertainments biggest legends in a bid to serenade the city. Siegfried & Roy, Rita Rudner, Wolfgang Puck, Wayne Newton, Blue Man Group, David Brenner and a host of other performers from Las Vegas resorts have come together to sing along to the voice of the late Frank Sinatra in aid of new television ads.|
The two new thirty second ads will also feature the ladies of La Femme. The knights of Excalibur, the pirates from Treasure Island, the casts of ‘Jubilee,’ ‘Mystere’ and ‘O’ and seven Elvis impersonators. Viewers will see performers singing along with Frank Sinatra to ‘It’s Time for You’. The entertainers were filmed at in front of landmarks throughout the city and at other recognizable locations. These included the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign and the Fremont Street Experience.
The ads are part of a new advertising campaign launched by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) using the previously unreleased Frank Sinatra material. The campaign is aimed at increasing tourism numbers, which have been down since the September 11 attacks.
CEO of R&R Partners, the LVCVA’s advertising agency, Billy Vassiliadis, commented, “The Sinatra song has generated an enormous interest – and people are responding to the positive message it conveys. This next phase of the campaign kicks up the fun factor a notch, and says to people, ‘It’s ok to launch again.’”
The ads will air from November 1-18 in Southern California, Phoenix, Dallas, Chicago, Houston and the San Francisco Bay area.
