New US reality TV show based in Vegas

The next reality TV show that is about to hit the American public is called “The Casino”. The show which as its name would suggest, is set in a casino in Las Vegas- the Golden Nugget Hotel, will follow two internet millionaires for 13 episodes, as they take over management of this casino, as well as a sister site in Laughlin, Nevada.

The show is being produced by Mark Burnett, the creator of other popular reality shows such as Survivor. Working with him are two co-executive producers, Jamie Bruce and Conrad Riggs. The show will follow these two new owners, Tim Poster and Tom Breitling, founders of Travelscape.com, as well as the 3,000 staff of the casino, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Jamie Bruce has explained though, that the real pull of the show will be the focus on the casino’s guests: 'The drama is in the guests, and in the casino. Some people, on television, have lost a couple hundred thousand of their own money. At the beginning of the show, I was very worried. I was saying, 'I hope the guests are going to come and be into it.' I quickly realized that, A, people who come to Vegas want to have fun; and, B, people want to be on TV. The combination of those two is explosive.'

“The Casino” will start airing today (14 June) in the US, and the producers have high hopes that the drama generated by all the real-life contributors, will prove to be a hit with the American public.
