|Rep. Robert Goodlatte, R-Va., is expected to reintroduce his anti-gambling bill today. The bill from the 106th congress was defeated in the House last year, due partly to the many carve-outs for ‘pari-mutual’ activities on horse racing, dog racing and jai alai. |
Goodlatte has said that his bill is much tougher this year and although a spokeswoman for Goodlatte has said the bill is “a little bit different” from last years, she would not comment on the changes.
Goodlatte will doubtless be encouraged by the success of Rep. Jim Leach, R-Iowa’s bill, which he voiced support for last week.
