|A new benchmark study has revealed the data of online gambling, as well as answers to an array of questions asked for years to online gambling consumers. The information comes courtesy of the River City Group, who have released ‘The Gambler Monitor’, the largest independent online gambling survey to date. The survey has revealed that twenty-eight percent of gamblers who use the Internet gamble online for real money, while another forty-seven percent participate in ‘free-play’ gambling style games. The in-depth survey means that, for the first time ever, researchers have at their fingertips, vital information such as which website features are most important to current and potential online gamblers, which gambling sites rank highest in popularity and who’s likely to gamble using wireless devices.|
President and CEO of River City Group, Sue Schneider, said, “We’re pleased to finally provide some solid baseline information regarding players of the online gaming sites. This study is the first of its kind, but we hope to update it in a regular basis so that we can track changes among players in a way that will be useful to operators.”
3,000 current and potential online gamblers from over 13 countries took part in the survey, which slices the market into various segments – by region, type of gambling and consumer group.
