Golden Palace Streaker: Guilty of Trespass
By philip
“If making people laugh is a crime,” Mark Roberts, the Golden Palace Streaker told a court in Houston, Texas, “I should get life.” The judge disagreed, and promptly fined him $1000. The notorious streaker, who bypassed security to jig onto the field at this year’s Super Bowl with little but emblazoned on his torso, was been found guilty of ‘misdemeanour trespassing’ by an all female jury and fined $1,000. Roberts, who had faced a possible sentence of six months and a $2,000 fine, kissed his lawyer and punched the air as the sentence was read.

The 39 year-old Liverpudlian told the court that he had never before been convicted of a crime and his aim had only been 'to entertain people in America.'

Prosecutor Kristin Guiney had asked Roberts be jailed because of the trauma he had caused to spectators. 'Seventy thousand - that's how many people had to see that man's nearly naked butt,' she told the jury.
