|A racetrack in the US has unveiled their plans to add new methods of betting for their betting public. The Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey has revealed it is planning to add both telephone and online betting facilities to its patrons. The plans for these additional betting avenues are concrete, and it has also been revealed that the track is looking at the possibility of establishing off-track betting facilities- although any such launch is unlikely to take place until late next year. The racetrack, which opened in 1976, and is sometimes referred to as the “Big M” is hoping that the additional avenues will see an increase in revenues for the track, by opening more accessible avenues for punters to place their bets.|
The new online forum is planned to be in place by October this year. No date has been set for the launch of the telephone option, which is more complicated and time consuming to set up than the internet option. The goal is that the online option will be available in time for the breeders Cup which is scheduled for late October. It is expected that the telephone option will follow shortly after.
