Scientific Games has confirmed that the Italian court considering the protests of the instant ticket award has ruled in favor of the consortium. Lottomatica and Scientific Games led the consortium. Scientific Games will begin to execute the contract as soon as the Monopoli di Stato ratifies the award. The contract will include the printing of instant tickets, supplying 10,000 SciScan™ validation terminals and a new central system, along with a full complement of Cooperative Services. It is believed the contract could generate $20 million in annual revenues once the lottery is fully operational, and another $20 million in central and terminal shares and also a share in the consortium profits. The selection depends on formal written notification and the negotiation of a formal contract. The final details of the consortium are currently being finalized

Chairman and CEO of Scientific Gaming, Lorne Weil, commented, “This award represents one of the most important contracts in our company’s history in that it takes advantage of all the company’s strengths – high volume processing wagers, instant ticket technology and related management and operations services. This is wonderful news and we are anxious to get to work to get the Italian instant tickets and validation terminals shipped on schedule. While we have been awaiting the court’s decision, we have been gearing up for a decision in our favor so we are ready. We are looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Lottomatica, the leading consortium member, in the execution of the contract and with the Italian government.”
