|AtTheRaces has signed a strategic five year deal with US partner The Racing Network to expand its exploitation of International media rights, the Racing Post has reported. |
Matthew Imi, ATR's chief executive, said: 'This is a very significant deal, with financial and strategic benefits for ATR and for its racecourse shareholders. Going forward, it will further cement our relationship with our betting partners and build important revenue streams for international rights holders.'
Under the terms of the agreement, ATR will take a percentage of all bets taken on American racing shown on the channel, while The Racing Network will act as ATR's agent for reselling rights in North and South America.
Bill Hogwood, president of The Racing Network, told the Racing Post: 'This deal allows us to continue to grow the popularity of US racing in the UK and to become the pari-mutuel operator for ATR for non-UK racing. In return, we will promote British racing in the North and South American markets, and work to develop the European market for both UK and US products.'
