|The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has reported that the figure for visitors in June rose by 2.2 percent compared to the numbers who visited the gambling city in June last year. Although the figures dropped in comparison to the numbers of visitors in March, April and May this year, that is to be expected according to John Piet- a senior research analyst, who describes the June figures as “one of our busiest Junes ever”. |
Although figures of visitors and spending are expected to be lower for the summer months than for other months of the year, the rise compared to last year is more good news for the city. Vegas has been enjoying something of a revival in 2004, with revenues and attendance generally up for the gambling industry based there, when compared with figures in recent years. Last month casinos released strong second quarter results, and despite caution being expressed by some analysts that the trend cannot continue, these June figures suggest that the popularity of the city is not yet starting to wane.
