Hong Kong police have made arrests on the weekend linked to illegal gambling pursuits. 115 men were taken into custody to be questioned about gambling illegally on insect fights. The men were found by the police in a building that houses a cricket lovers’ association. Although the men remain in custody they have not yet been charged.

Police confiscated approximately 300 crickets during the bust, as well as $1,025 in cash. A spokesman for the Hong Kong police who confirmed the arrests and the confiscated goods, T.K. Ng, has confirmed that the men were not charged, and at time of writing, there had been no update as to which of the men would be.

Anyone who is ultimately charged in this matter will face the maximum penalty placed in Hong Kong for illegal gambling activities- that being a fine of $1,280 and three months imprisonment.
