US tennis open launches, as do a proliferation of sites
By emma
Sites supporting the upcoming US tennis open are now open and the odds offered for predicting the final outcome are now available. The tournament begins today, and keen fans can start visiting official tennis sites and online betting sites to start reading on form, lodging their opinion, and of course, placing their bets on the likely outcome.

In 2003, the official ATP site recorded an 18 percent rise in visitors compared to 2002. In line with the rest of the sporting and online gambling industries, tennis support is moving increasingly online, with fans looking for updates or footage via the web, as well as joining forums to express their support and frustrations. Online betting has also increased, with many betting options being available on outcomes of finals, particular matches or even odds following particular players.

For those keen to inform their betting choices, the official US open site is now open, with the draws now available and many opinions and statistics analysing current form. On most betting sites, Federer is generally offered as favourite, followed closely by Roddick. Following close behind them however are Hewitt and Agassi.
