Nevada Gold 7 Casinos, Inc. has announced that the Black Hawk gaming market grew 8.1% in October 2001, to $39.9 million. This was an increase compared to $36.9 million in October last year, said a report by the Colorado Division of Gaming.
In the state of Colorado, Black Hawk’s casinos managed to generate over 70% of the gaming revenue. Statewide gaming revenue in October reached $56.4 million, an increase of almost 4% compared with the same month last year.
President and CEO, H. Thomas Winn, said, “We are very pleased that the Black Hawk market continues to demonstrate resilience in these difficult economic times.”
Nevada Gold & Casinos owns 43% ownership of the Isle of Capri Casino Black Hawk. This is through a joint venture with Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., the largest hotel casino in Colorado. Nevada Gold & Casinos also enjoy 51% ownership in the Dry Creek Casino, LLC. They also own other assets including over 850 acres on Wellesley Island in Upstate New York, which is planed for development into an upscale resort and 240 acres contiguous to the city of Black Hawk, Colorado. In addition, Nevada Gold owns 30% of Restaurant Connections International, which owns Pizza Hut restaurants in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
