GTECH has announced that it has signed a new six-year facilities management contract with the Kansas Lottery. The contract means that GTECH will provide the Kansas Lottery’s online lottery equipment and services. The contract award follows a competitive procurement and is expected to commence on July 1, 2002, expiring on June 30, 2008.

GTHECH CEO and President, Howard S. Cohen, said, “GTECH has enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership with the Kansas Lottery for well over a decade. We look forward to maintaining and enhancing this partnership by helping the Lottery provide viable benefits for state-funded programs, including economic development initiatives in Kansas.”

Executive director of the Kansas Lottery, Ed Van Pellen, added, “We are happy to continue our relationship with GTECH. The Kansas Lottery prides itself on being efficient and successful in generating revenue for the state, and we attribute much of this success to our 14-year relationship with GTECH.”

The new contract means that GTECH will maintain the Lottery’s existing terminal base of over 1,800 Isys® terminals. GTECH will also continue to provide the Lottery with ongoing services, including operation and maintenance of the central system hardware and software, terminal maintenance, retailer training, marketing support, field services and hotline management.
