|Microgaming has revealed that it has won the licensing right to hugely popular video game, Tomb Raider. The Tomb Raider brand is owned by Eidos, a leading developer and publisher of entertainment software, with the game proving to be a phenomenal success story, so popular that it eventually became the premise for a Hollywood movie. Microgaming now has the rights to develop a game based on the Tomb Raider and its leading character Lara Croft theme.|
The game being released is a video slot, based around 15 playlines, with a maximum bet per spin set at 75 cents. Play is available in a range of denominations, from one cent to one dollar. The game also has a bonus feature, with players gaining entry from the free spins available on the game. If played with a maximum bet US$37,500 able to be won. That figure increases to a possible US$112,500 if played with the free spin x3 multiplier feature.
The graphics follow the Tomb Raider style, and do feature the iconic figure of Lara Croft. The theme of the game revolves around an exotic treasure hunt. When winning combinations are struck, there is a range of bonuses, scatters, free spins and wild symbol awards possible, with most of them contributing to the end playline. Mark Fredericks of Microgaming said of the gain of the licensing rights to the company: “The licensing of such a globally recognized brand as Tomb Raider is a coup for us. Whilst working on this new online video slot, we have seen some great graphics come out of our studios.'
