Spokesman Voices Opposition To Net Gaming

Frank Fahrenkopf, president of the American Gaming Association, said that the organisation would continue to oppose Internet gambling, although that wouldn’t mean they would support any bill to ban it.

Fahrenkopf told attendees at the 18th annual Gov. Conference on Travel and Tourism that the organisation didn’t believe that the technology existed to allow sufficient regulatory and law enforcement oversight.

He also said of the Goodlatte bill that it raises questions concerning common pool wagering and the association thinks it would give the horse racing industry a competitive advantage in the use of the Internet.
