Online Games will Break Records

2002 may be the year that gaming beats porn as King of the Web. It is expected that sites like POGO.com and FlipSide.com will rank in the top positions for “most popular site” in this upcoming year. Pogo.com has already made a name for itself in 2001 when the site scraped its way to a member of the 10 most popular online casino sites in the world, beating sites like Lycos and Yahoo for time spent on site.

Online casino games are expected to lead the way as far as pay-for-play goes. Already a leader in the online moneymaking space, online casino games are second only to sex regarding total revenues online. Experts and financial analysts agree that Internet Gaming will double in popularity and profit over these next 12 months.

“When casinos like MGM and Harrah’s come online and take real money bets-you’ll start to see the size of this industry.” Says online gaming expert Gabriel Black. He continues: “We are seeing the tip of the iceberg with several European casino companies dipping their toe in the sea of Internet games. Once the competition heats up, the industry will mature and player satisfaction will become the driving differentiator between online casinos.”
