PBL Launches “CrownGames” Internet Casino

Port Vila, Vanuatu – January 3, 2002 – PBL Gaming Operations (Vanuatu) Limited today launched its online casino, CrownGames, from its regulated base on the South Pacific island of Vanuatu.

The gaming site, www.CrownGames.com, delivers a vibrant online experience with functionality that has never been offered to Internet gaming players.

Featuring the familiar and traditional land-based casino offerings of table games and slots, CrownGames offers blackjack, roulette, baccarat and keno, in addition to 10 different slot machines, ranging from three-reel games to Australian style, sophisticated five reel, 20 line multipliers with second screen features.

Ingeniously, every game of blackjack and baccarat simulates the land-based experience of a card shoe, shuffling and cutting the decks, enabling the user to track the banker-player moves during the game. In addition, players are able to play each game at multiple positions simultaneously, or play the entire table if they wish.

Slot and poker machine players will appreciate the added features of the free spins with multipliers, substituting multipliers, morphing reels and reel locking features.

“We are excited to launch our CrownGames online casino, which offers an unprecedented range of dynamic and entertaining games for players connected to the Internet,” said Mr Andrew MacDonald, Chief Executive of PBL Gaming Operations (Vanuatu) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly-listed Australian media and entertainment company Publishing and Broadcasting (PBL) Limited.

“Due to the exponential growth of the industry, online casino players are increasingly demanding the assurance and trust of operators – knowing that they are dealing with a reputable business.”

The Minister for Finance and Economic Management in Vanuatu granted an Interactive Gaming Licence on 12 December 2001, following full Government approval and independent certification by BMM International. BMM tested the CrownGames gaming software, network infrastructure, security systems and operational controls for player fairness, responsible gaming measures, security of information and audit compliance.

“We offer a safe and secure site, without compromising the player’s need for a rewarding value-added experience at our online casino,” Mr MacDonald added.

“CrownGames offers strong player protection and responsible gaming measures aligned with the Australian interactive gambling model, in addition to the security of operating in a tightly-controlled regulated environment.”

In order to respect the laws of jurisdictions where Internet gambling is not approved,

www.CrownGames.com does not accept bets from Australian, New Zealand or U.S.A. residents.

With more than 1400 gaming sites currently accessible online, Internet casinos must offer superior customer service and differentiation to attract and maintain customer loyalty. To this end, CrownGames licenses software provided by PBL Gaming Technology (PBLGT) – in addition to incorporating the most valuable cutting-edge enhancements, such as CRM technology.

“Our site offers a completely new entertainment option for online casino players, using proprietary gaming software exclusive to CrownGames,” Mr MacDonald said.

“We believe that we provide both a unique experience for our customers and deliver unprecedented gaming functionality that closely reflects a land based casino experience.”

With over 25 years experience in the gaming industry, Mr MacDonald added that CrownGames had a tremendous opportunity to capture a loyal following of customers.

“Our software is both simple and sleek, and transcends all levels of player experience. It is both easy to use for first-time players, as well as challenging for experienced gamblers. I haven’t seen anything on the market that captures the excitement that we can offer,” he said.

The site also offers players the option of downloading games to their personal computer, as well as playing the scaled down Ultra Lite version, which can be played for fun or in competition mode. Players are able to play for points as free play, prior to signing up as a registered player.

CrownGames also incorporates PeopleSoft customer relationship management (CRM) software for use in its contact centre. Customers can submit requests via several channels, including real-time secure chat, forms and emails, facilitating rapid responses to any customer request.

The CrownGames mystery jackpot engine also offers customers the excitement of jackpots across a variety of games, including Roulette, for as little as a 1c wager in slots and 50c in Roulette.

New games will be released on a regular basis throughout the year to enhance the entertainment value to players.

To celebrate the launch of CrownGames, new players are offered four special promotions. There is a one-off US$100 bonus on approval of verification of player details, in addition to a 100% deposit match bonus, where CrownGames credits a player’s account with the same amount deposited for play. In addition, the site offers a monthly deposit match bonus and an Ultra Lite play-for-fun baccarat promotion.
