|The conference, to be held at Cafe Royal, Regent Street, London on 22nd June 2005, has been designed help businesses ensure their own compliance and while taking full advantage of the business opportunities that the new law allows.|
Kicking off the conference, Michael Smeaton, a Remote Gambling Specialist and former Gamcare executive, will discuss Social Responsibility and the governments view of pathological gambling. Tom Kelly, CEO of the Association of British Bookmakers, will then discuss the changes relevant to Betting Shops.
Remote Gambling is currently booming with stocks reaching an all time high. Burning questions such as: ‘Will it continue?’ and ‘Will operators want to site their servers in the UK as a result of the new Gambling Act?’ will be tackled by Clive Hawkswood, General Secretary of Association of Remote Gambling Operators, David Zefferman, Partner at Olswangs, and Nick Nocton, Partner at Jeffrey Green Russell.
Tom Kavanagh, Chief Executive Gaming Board of Great Britain, will also be at hand to discuss compliance and enforcement while Greg Chalmers from Gaming Bill Team at DCMS will tell conference attendees what the government is hoping to achieve.
Several other speakers will be in attendance, including a top UK gambling analyst, Andrew Lee, from Dresder Kleinwort Wasserstein, who will discuss which companies are likely to be the winners and losers.
