New York. January 18. 2002. (Source: PRNewsire.) Jupiter Media Metrix, Inc., a world-wide recognized leader in Internet new technology assessment, released the Media Metrix December, 2001 U.S. Top 50 Web and digital media property ratings. 68% of the sites -- 34 -- are newcomers, and among the newcomers prominently mentioned are search engines for online gamblers.
All of the sites attracted more than half a million first-time visitors.
'A varied and robust list of newcomer Web sites signals continuing and
growing demand for online services,' said Charles Buchwalter, Vice President of Media Research at Jupiter. Findings include some statistics that are interesting, and the last, which is rather stunning:
Spiritual Growth sites remained near the top among the newcomer list in December, just as in previous months. Interviewwithgod.com, which creates movies that are centered on Bible verses, had 617,000 visitors. Greatday.com, offering motivational passages for each day of the year, had 511,000 visitors.
And Gambleup.com, a search engine for online gamers and gamblers, had 904,000 visitors.
