|Sportsbook.com has updated their odds for Major League Baseball’s Most Valuable Player award. Sportsbook’s latest set of odds put Andruw Jones (Atlanta) top at 5-8, with Albert Pujols (St Louis) trailing at 13-10. |
Jones has been leading the home-run tally with 51, whilst Pujols has 41 and a useful .330 batting average. The St Louis Cardinals have another player leading the CY Young award, with pitcher Chris Carpenter at 5-9. Carpenter is being chased by Marlins’ Dontrelle Willis at 7-5, who is leading the division with 22 wins.
In the American League the Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez is Sportsbook’s clear MVP leader at 5-13, whilst David Orvitz of the Red Sox is second at 2-1. The CY Young leader is Bartolo Colon (LA) at 1-2, who leads from Mariano Rivera (Yankees) at 8-5.
Sportsbook’s Peter Childs summed up, “It always seems to come down the Red Sox and Yankees at the end of the year. The betting sentiment seems to indicate that the MVP will come from either team.”
