The biggest regulatory problem involves the rapid development and increasing sophistication of online gaming technologies and accompanying applications.
As online gaming constitutes a growing and legitimate entertainment form, the government said it would strengthen regulations to minimize any negative influences that online gaming may have upon social development, especially among youth.
Currently, about 8 million people use the internet in Vietnam, about 10 per cent of the population. The popularity of wide bandwidth internet has contributed to improving people’s computer skills and knowledge in using information technology.
