Commission’s Tatoo Taboo May Go to Court

The Golden Palace online casino has plans to sue the Nevada Athletic Commission over its intended ban, just voted for, against boxers wearing temporary tattoos in the ring in Nevada. Mark Ratner, Executive Director of the Commission, said “ ... commissioners considered the tattoos demeaning to the sport.”

Middleweight boxing champion Bernard Hopkins had temporary tattoos on his back, advertising the Golden Palace online casino during his title fights in New York and Pennsylvania.

Paul Larson, an attorney for Golden Palace, said: “I am taking them to court to say their ban is unconstitutional. It is clearly unconstitutional.”

He was referring most likely to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech.
