Antiguan Online Casino Development To Continue
By Andrew
The Internet gambling industry in Antigua will continue to develop - despite pressure from the United States to prohibit the practice.

Finance Minister, Errol Cort, said 10 new online gambling companies would open on the Caribbean island next year, joining the 14 that already have been granted operating licenses.

The legal argument centres on the United States’ belief that Internet gambling violates state laws, whilst Antigua argues that the U.S. position is contrary to global trade rules. The dispute has been taken to the World Trade Organization, which has yet to rule on the matter.

Cort promised in Parliament that any new gambling ventures would be controlled by the most stringent practice.
